Inspired by our Daria trouser, the wide-leg Elaine trouser is crafted in the United States from silk shantung – a plain-weave silk woven with an ultrafine slub yarn, affording a rustic look and a soft hand. It's printed with one of the season's signature patterns inspired by designs traditional to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and cultures throughout Asia. The interwoven global history of ikat techniques – from as early as the 10th century – holds cherished historical symbolism and varied origins across cultures in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Latin America.
